  HIGH HOLIDAYS at BJC
High Holy Days at BJC

Join us at Bethesda Jewish Congregation for the Days of Awe, a time of reflection and inspiration. Ta Shema, come and listen to the unique sounds of the Days of Repentance. The mysterious music and rhythms of prayer set the stage for what we can hear in the silence. The wailing of the human heart as it reaches for the unfathomable. The whirring of the mind as it strives to recognize the unknowable. The yearning of the soul as it reaches for what it senses is out there waiting, welcoming us, if only, if only….

High Holidays Supplement and Musical Interlude

Writers, Readers & Musicians Wanted
for High Holy Days Supplement and Musical Interlude

We are looking for:
bulletWriters - please send your submissions for the High Holy Day Supplement.
bulletReaders - if you would like to read from the bimah at services please let us know.
bulletMusicians - We invite you to share your music with the congregation at the Yom Kippur interlude. We are also looking for a coordinator for this year’s musical program.
bulletThe Musical Meditation program on Yom Kippur afternoon is a time many people look forward to as a period for relaxed contemplation against the background of beautiful music. We are looking for people both adults and students who play an instrument or sing to participate in the program. We would particularly like to involve people who have not participated before. We do not expect a professional performance, but the piece you play or sing should be at performance level. Although not required, music could have a Jewish theme and/or be of a contemplative nature. If interested or if you would like to recommend someone, please email Hazzan Schnitzer hazzan@bethesdajewish.com  or call (301) 469-8636.
bulletBa’al Tikiyah (Shofar blowers) – please call (301-469-8636) or email Hazzan Schnitzer at hazzan@berthesdajewish.com
